【親子共讀】繪本推薦｜Pig the Winner

今年是金狗旺旺年，以狗狗為主角的系列繪本很多，如：大紅狗 Clifford、美聲狗Groovy Joe、小白狗Noodles 外，Aaron Blabey的Pig the Pug 系列更是受歡迎！Aaron Blabey 是澳洲著名的童書作家，他的作品如：Thelma the Unicorn, I need a hug 都是很有棒的童書，而他的Pig the Pug 系列，更是風行全球！之前我們就讀過巴哥犬 Pig the Pug 我們都知道Pig the Pug 是隻很沒禮貌又貪心的狗，他不願意和別人分享任何東西，不管是他的食物或玩具，他完全不肯和他人分享，就算是他的室友臘腸狗Trevor搖尾乞憐的希望他分享，他還是不為所動，但最後，就在Pig專心炫耀之際，悲劇發生了…，他的那堆戰利品玩具撐不住他的重量，他就從他身後的窗戶掉到樓下… 全身被繃帶包緊緊的Pig 終於必須和Trevor一起共享玩具了。

今天我們來讀Pig the Pug 系列另一本Pig the Winner，Pig 這次又會捅什麼簍子呢？Pig 狗性不改： Pig was a Pug. And I’s sorry to say, if he didn’t come first it would ruin his day. 他可是不容易被挑戰打敗，原因是Believe it or not, he was quite hard to beat. And the reason was simple…Yes, Pig was a cheat. 如果他真的輸了呢？But if he DID lose, he’d throw a pink fit. He’d cry and he’d cry and he just wouldn’t quit.

哈哈！ Pig 也會一哭二鬧三上吊@@ He’d sob and he’d sook, with a quivering chin, till you gave up and said to him. “OK, you win.” 然後他就故態復萌了，But as soon as you sid it, he’d clap and he’d stamp, and he’d rub it in loudly that HE was the champ. 今天他要和Trevor比賽吃飼料，Trevor said shyly, “ I don’t want to race,” but Pig had yelled, “ Go!” and was stuffing his face. Pig立馬塞了滿嘴的食物： biscuits dribble, sausages, doggie treats… Pig一不小心塞了不是食物的東西進了嘴巴裡…Pig didn’t notice he’d swallowed his bowl. 他會因此學到教訓嗎？Trevor squeezed out the bowl before Pig could turn blue. But Pig didn’t thank him! He just said, “ I WIN!”然後不知恩圖報的 Pig 得到教訓了，Then the bowl bounced right back…and knocked Pig in the bin! 哈哈哈…看到Pig 的屁股被卡在垃圾桶嗎？

These days it’s different, I’m happy to say. Pig’s not the winner each time that they play. Pig 最後學到教訓了， He plays to have fun, and his tantrums have ceased. Yes, Trevor can win now!

孩子在成長的過程中，要慢慢教導孩子勝負不是不重要，但享受其中的過程更重要，過程才是成就並充實我們人生的重要事情，當然也不能為了贏得勝利就做出損人利己的不公平的事情，最後終究會害到自己的。
